Aside from that,\u00a0he set the time for the fastest lap and he is the only driver who has been on podium for every race this\u00a0season . Sergio Perez finished\u00a0second,\u00a020 seconds behind the winner with George Russell taking the final podium place.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4952\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4952\" style=\"width: 240px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4952\" src=\"https:\/\/invo.nyarango.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-04-10-at-4.50.14-PM-240x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4952\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Charles Leclerc won the Australian Grand Prix<br \/>Photo Courtesy: F1 Official Instagram page<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Redbull&#8217;s Max Verstappen pulled over\u00a0to\u00a0the side of the track with an engine issue on lap 39\/58 leaving the race leader with no competition. This is his second\u00a0Did Not Finish\u00a0(DNF)\u00a0since the season began. Carlos Sainz, the other Ferrari driver,\u00a0having qualified\u00a0in\u00a0ninth\u00a0place\u00a0after\u00a0a tough qualifying session,opted to use hard tyres which cost him five places then\u00a0later \u00a0retired as his car spun on lap 2 into the gravel at the exit of turn\u00a0ten. Aston Martin&#8217;s Sebastian Vettel made his return to the grid this season but his race was brought to an abrupt\u00a0end\u00a0with a disappointing crash on lap 23.\u00a0The German missed the opening two races of the season in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia after testing positive for Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Albon had an amazing drive as he pitted\u00a0on the final lap having done the whole race on hard tyres. He took\u00a0the final point after stating from last.<\/p>\n<p>Results leave Mercedes having taken\u00a0the most points from Melbourne and Ferrari still in the Lead\u00a0of the constuctors standings.
