There\u2019s something about Antique shops that captivates me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I guess it\u2019s all the cool stuff they\u2019ve got… Mostly carvings!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I was walking around, this map of Africa caught my eye<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I couldn\u2019t help but think of our beautiful continent for a moment\u2026 I hope you enjoy the piece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, my Africa!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How beautiful are you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are a blessed continent, curved out of glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The birds chirp each morning, singing a beautiful song<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lion roars deep in the wild, as the king of the jungle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A land of milk and honey, where culture, heritage, and tradition are ever-flowing\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, my Africa!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are a land of great heroes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A land of constant opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blessed with diversity in people\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When will you awake my dear Africa?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When, oh when will you stop subjecting us to these pains? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, my Africa!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are a free continent yet subjected ourselves to be slaves once more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Constantly killing our brothers and sisters\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All for the name of power!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, dear\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When will you realize that this is a train that won\u2019t stop moving?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why be distracted by irrelevant issues without seeing you\u2019ve got passengers determined for the journey? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, my Africa!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re full of your splendor and beauty, yet this not what you portray outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have become a den of hungry lions\u2026 Where the most powerful wants to enjoy the biggest chunk of the dead carcass on his own\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stop being ignorant!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are the richest land for others, but hell for our mothers and children!! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, my Africa!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When will you stop harrowing in poverty?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have an embarrassment of talent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have all the arsenals to win this battle. However, you choose to walk around naked and not bothered by the shame and ridicule you bring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are blessed with natural resources, yet the financial benefit is claimed by outsiders. Your wildlife is breath-taking, yet you kill them in exchange for money\u2026. When will you arise my dear?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why eat alone when we can all share?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wake up dear loved one!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wake up!! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, my Africa!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In War or poverty, I love you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With democracy or forced dictatorship, I still love you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With all the hopelessness and negativity around, my love for you still remains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope you will one day reciprocate my love to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That selfishness will not be what rules our continent\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That love for power and money will not be an issue\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I pray that Africa may once again redeem its glorious splendor, and be viewed for the beautiful continent it is\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where growth, brotherhood, culture, and heritage are the order of the day<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, my Africa!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was born here\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I long for the day our beauty will be admired by all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I long for the day you will be a pillar and example to the rest of the continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How long will it take?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, like a bride who waits for her groom\u2026 So will I wait for you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
